Ralph Herzka

CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Mr. Herzka founded Meridian in 1991, and has served as its Chief Executive Officer since its formation. He is the guiding force behind our firm’s growth and success, and has set standards nationally for expertise, vision and reputation in commercial real estate finance. Mr. Herzka has 30 years’ experience in real estate advisory work, and has personally negotiated more than $65 billion in real estate financing transactions. Over his career, Mr. Herzka has developed deep and lasting relationships with a broad array of lenders, including banks, agency lenders, life companies and conduit lenders. He has built multigenerational relationships with many of the country’s most sophisticated and active real estate owners and operators. Mr. Herzka’s stature has been consistently recognized by local and national media, including by the Mortgage Observer in March 2014 as number six on the “50 Most Important People In Commercial Real Estate Finance.” In addition to Meridian, Mr. Herzka was a co-founder of Beech Street Capital, LLC, a mortgage banking firm and Fannie Mae DUS® lender, Freddie Mac Program Plus® Seller Servicer and MAP-approved FHA lender that was sold to Capital One in 2013. He was also a founder of Ladder Capital, a commercial real estate lender and CMBS originator.

Aaron Birnbaum

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Birnbaum is a cofounder of Meridian and an Executive Vice President. He is responsible for managing the firm’s commercial, conduit and structured finance platforms. Under his stewardship, Meridian has financed more than $35 billion in commercial transactions across the country. Mr. Birnbaum also assumes a direct leadership role in managing relationships with a broad array of conduit and construction lenders, as well as multifamily and commercial property owners.

Avi Weinstock

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Weinstock joined Meridian in 1992, shortly after its formation, and serves as an Executive Vice President. Mr. Weinstock’s responsibilities include managing Meridian’s national team of multifamily mortgage finance advisors, loan underwriters and processors. In addition to having oversight authority of the Company’s multifamily placement operations, Mr. Weinstock is responsible for day-to-day management of the firm’s relationships with its most active lenders. Mr. Weinstock also personally manages many of the firm’s largest proprietary client relationships.

Jeff Weinberg

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Weinberg is a cofounder and Executive Vice President of the Company, specializing in the facilitation of New York multifamily lending transactions. He manages a team of skilled mortgage finance professionals, and is actively involved on behalf of Meridian in the development of many key client and lender relationships.

Yoni Goodman

President

Mr. Goodman serves as President of Meridian Capital Group, overseeing the company across all divisions and markets nationally.  In this role he is responsible for managing Meridian’s day-to-day business activities in the mortgage, sales, and leasing divisions including overseeing its existing brokerage force, overall personnel, and many client and lender relationships.  Mr. Goodman, working in tandem with Mr. Herzka and Meridian’s senior leadership, works to chart the strategic direction of the firm, expand Meridian’s service lines and geographic reach, recruit talent, and create and foster new corporate level relationships between Meridian and its partners.

Prior to assuming the role of President of Meridian in January of 2019, Mr. Goodman served as President of its Investment Sales division, which was launched in 2015. Additionally, he played a critical role in building Meridian’s retail leasing division, launched in 2018, and retains an active management role in these businesses.

From 2010 through 2014, Mr. Goodman was a senior member of the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Goldman Sachs. During his tenure at Goldman, he originated and structured more than $5 billion of CMBS and balance sheet lending activity and strategically advised and financed clients including REITs, investment managers, private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds and private investors. Mr. Goodman also served in various leadership roles within his group at Goldman, including helping to manage the group’s business selection, recruitment and staffing processes. From 2008 through 2010, Mr. Goodman worked in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group at the Reznick Group. From 2004 through 2008, Mr. Goodman worked in the Real Estate Finance Group at Credit Suisse First Boston, in both origination and disposition capacities.

Helen Hwang

Senior Executive Managing Director

Helen Hwang is Senior Executive Managing Director at Meridian Investment Sales, LLC and is head of the Institutional Investment Sales Group.  Ms. Hwang has executed over 70 institutional sales and recapitalization transactions exceeding $25 billion in value.  Prior to joining Meridian, Ms. Hwang spent 16 years at Cushman & Wakefield as an Executive Vice President, where she worked on several unprecedented complex assignments, including 1865 Broadway, 22 River Terrace, 101 Murray Street, One Court Square, 510 Madison Avenue, 511 Fifth Avenue, the MetLife Building at 200 Park Avenue, 666 Fifth Avenue, the portfolio sale of Park Avenue and 850 Third Avenue, and the ground leases under 625 Madison Avenue, 2 Herald Square and 75 Rockefeller Center.  For the sale of 88 Leonard Street, Ms. Hwang was honored with the Real Estate Board of New York’s highest achievement, the 2012 Most Ingenious Sales Deal of the Year (Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award).  She also set numerous pricing records in the development/redevelopment arena in Columbus Circle, Lower Manhattan, Midtown West, West Village, Upper East Side, and Brooklyn.Ms. Hwang has marketed significant New York assets for clients such as Africa Israel Investments, Ashkenazy Acquisitions, Bank of America, Capmark Financial, Dermot Company, Epic UK, Five Mile Capital, Istithmar, J.E. Robert Companies, Paramount Group, Park Tower Group, Rockrose Development Corp, SL Green, Vornado Realty Trust, and Macklowe Properties.  She has been a trusted strategic advisor to numerous prominent New York institutions, including American Bible Society, St. John’s University, Children’s Aid Society, MTA, Verizon, and Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York. Ms. Hwang was awarded the Top Broker of the Year by Real Estate Forum Magazine, a leading trade publication, and won CoStar’s prestigious Power Broker of the Year award from 2010 through 2014. The Asian American Business Development Center named her one of the 50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business in 2011. Ms. Hwang also serves as an industry expert guest speaker for numerous conferences and some of the top REIT equity research teams in the nation, including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, ISI Group, FBR Capital Markets & Co, JMP Securities, and UBS. Ms. Hwang received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration (Real Estate Finance), where she graduated “With Distinction.” She also holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate Investment and Development from New York University. Ms. Hwang is a New York State Certified Real Estate Appraiser and is a New York and New Jersey Licensed Salesperson.

Karen Wiedenmann

Managing Director

Karen Wiedenmann is a Managing Director in the Institutional Investment Sales Group of Meridian Investment Sales, LLC and has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Ms. Wiedenmann specializes in due diligence review, preparation of marketing materials, and project management oversight for the sale, acquisition, and recapitalization of Manhattan properties. Notable transactions she has worked on include 666 Fifth Avenue, The MetLife Building, Park Avenue Tower/850 Third Avenue, 750 Third Avenue/485 Lexington Avenue. Ms. Wiedenmann was previously with CB Richard Ellis for seven years as a Senior Project Manager for the New York Capital Markets team, where she managed all components of the group’s marketing programs. Prior to joining CBRE in 1996, Ms. Wiedenmann managed New York City real estate assets for CB Hampshire, a New Jersey-based property management partnership between CBRE and Hampshire Management. Her prior experience includes facilities and property management experience for a 5.5 million square foot mixed-use New Jersey portfolio, as well as, free-lance property management and lease abstracting work. Ms. Wiedenmann has been involved in representing institutional owners and international marketing programs for over $18 billion of commercial real estate. Ms. Wiedenmann is a licensed real estate sales person in New York State. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Emerson College.

Brian Szczapa

Senior Director
Brian Szczapa is a Senior Director in the Institutional Investment Sales Group of Meridian Investment Sales, LLC and has over 13 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, including acquisition/disposition, development and corporate real estate management. Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, Mr. Szczapa was a member of the New York Investment Sales team at Cushman & Wakefield, which closed more than $6 billion in volume during his employment. He acted as a key member on due diligence and underwriting on several significant transactions in the residential and land/development sectors including 88 Leonard Street ($220 million), 22 River Terrace ($230 million), 101 Murray Street ($223 million), and 140 West Street ($274 million). Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Szczapa was an Acquisitions Associate at SOVA Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of a start-up Israeli publicly traded real estate investment company with an investment portfolio in the United States. The investment focus of the company was on income producing real estate, mezzanine debt, preferred equity deals and development projects.  While with SOVA, Mr. Szczapa was involved with the firm’s operations, including initial capitalization, acquisitions, asset management and restructurings.  Mr. Szczapa played a key role in the acquisition and refinancing of the company’s office assets, including Merritt Crossing (a Class-A office building in Milford, CT) and the L&C Tower (a Class-A office building in downtown Nashville, TN).   Mr. Szczapa started his career in real estate as a financial analyst for Northern Bay Management Group, a full-service real estate management and consulting company in Long Island, NY.  While at Northern Bay, Mr. Szczapa participated on a team that provided corporate real estate services for Computer Associates and was involved with the acquisition of the Long Island Marriott along with the initial planning of several large scale development projects. Mr. Szczapa received a MBA in Finance from Hofstra University and a BA in Journalism from New York University.

Ernie Nichols

Project Manager
Ernie Nichols is Project Manager at Meridian Investment Sales, LLC and has 6 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, including marketing platform management, deal and team administration, account management, and project management.     Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, Mr. Nichols was a Senior Brokerage Coordinator at Cushman & Wakefield, where he worked with top executives in the New York Investment Sales Group in closing more than $6 billion in transaction volume. Prior to that, Mr. Nichols was Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, Investor Services and Database Management for Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, where he managed the development of strategy, prospect identification, engagement, solicitation and stewardship of regional and national corporations and private foundations, oversaw the grants and proposals process for development and research and managed funds and the capital budget. Mr. Nichols has also supervised research protocols for the Federal Drug Administration at the Center for Gene Therapy at Tulane University’s School of Medicine. Mr. Nichols received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Tulane University’s School of Science and Engineering. Mr. Nichols is a licensed real estate salesperson in New York.

Yasmin Kheradpey

Associate
Yasmin Kheradpey is an Associate in Meridian Capital’s Institutional Investment Sales Group. Her responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to, acquisition/disposition, valuation/underwriting, research, transaction due diligence, and property marketing. Prior to joining the Meridian Capital, Ms. Kheradpey was an Associate with Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets Group, as well as a part of Cushman & Wakefield’s inaugural Professional Real Estate Program (PREP). Through PREP, Ms. Kheradpey rotated within the firm’s numerous business lines, including; Valuation & Advisory, Equity, Debt & Structured Finance, Corporate Occupier & Investor Services, Investment Sales, Brokerage and Research. Ms. Kheradpey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Human Resources Management from Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics. While at Lehigh University, Ms. Kheradpey was a three-time recipient of the Fioretti Family Scholarship for Real Estate and Entrepreneurship and won the Collins Family Real Estate Scholarship Competition and Practicum. Ms. Kheradpey is a licensed real estate salesperson in New York and a LEED Green Associate.

Nicholas Dailey

Associate
Nicholas Dailey is an Associate in the Institutional Investment Sales Group of Meridian Investment Sales, LLC. His responsibilities at Meridian Investment Sales include, but are not limited to, acquisition/disposition, valuation/underwriting, research, transaction due diligence and property marketing. Nick received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  Mr. Dailey also received a Certificate in Real Estate Studies from the Isenberg School of Management.

Middle-Market Investment Sales

Amit Doshi

Senior Executive Managing Director
Amit Doshi recently joined Meridian Investment Sales as a Senior Executive Managing Director to head the mid-market multifamily investment sales sector. Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Doshi spent 30 years as a partner at a boutique investment sales firm, spearheading a tight knit team of 20 investment sales brokers. To date, Mr. Doshi has sold over 1,400 investment properties whose market value is in billions, making him one of the most prolific and consistent producers in New York City investment arena in the last three decades.

His experience consists of selling more than 55 million square feet comprising of 63,500 apartments, 2,850 retail and commercial spaces as well as several land development properties in NYC and its boroughs. Mr. Doshi has achieved an average of 40 deals per year throughout his career, including 57 deals in 2005. In 2007, he set the mark even higher, by selling a multifamily portfolio for a single family comprising of 108 buildings for a record price of $295,000,000. From multifamily properties to land assemblages, he has gained a strong foothold by mastering the vagaries associated with rent stabilization, regulatory agreements, complex leaseholds, ground leases and zoning laws. Mr. Doshi was recruited to dispose Real Estate Owned and non-performing loans during the 1990’s banking and real estate crisis for quasi government institutions such as Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) as well as many leading Commercial banks, S & L’s and private lenders.

He has been named a “Power Broker” for multiple years by CoStar Research and other industry experts, in recognition of being one of top 10 Brokers in sales transactions. Mr. Doshi received his B.S in Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is an ardent supporter of numerous charitable causes as well as is a member of many professional organizations.

David Schechtman

Senior Executive Managing Director
Mr. Schechtman joined Meridian Investment Sales in April 2015 as a Senior Managing Director, overseeing a team of originators, analysts and other professionals. Mr. Schechtman is widely recognized as one of the most active and respected investment sales brokers in New York City, where he executes transactions throughout the City and across all asset classes, including multifamily, retail, office, industrial as well as land and conversions. While Mr. Schechtman routinely sells stabilized properties, he is acclaimed for his ability to work through complex transactions and recognize hidden value in various asset classes.  A former bankruptcy litigator, he regularly is retained by major institutions to value and market senior, secured first mortgages. Over his career, Mr. Schechtman has completed more than $5.4 billion in real estate sales transactions. In 2015 alone, Mr. Schechtman completed more than 38 transactions totaling over $1 billion in proceeds. Prior to joining Meridian, he held the position of Principal and Executive Managing Director at Eastern Consolidated, where he was named “Broker of the Year” on multiple occasions. Prior to Eastern, Mr. Schechtman was a practicing attorney at DLA Piper in New York, where he specialized in commercial and property-related bankruptcy and litigation. Mr. Schechtman has been publicly recognized by The Real Deal as a “Titan”; on two occasions as among the “25 Most Visible New York City Real Estate Players Post Credit-Crunch” by The Commercial Observer in its “Power Broker” rankings; by The Real Deal as one of the “25 Most Visible New York City Real Estate Players Post-Credit Crunch”; and by Real Estate Weekly as one of New York City’s “Rising Stars.” Mr. Schechtman holds a J.D. from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and a B.A. from University of Delaware.

Adam Hess

Senior Managing Director
Mr. Hess joins Meridian as one of Brooklyn’s leading experts in the marketing and sale of multifamily and mixed-use assets. Over his 15-year career as an investment sales broker, Mr. Hess has been responsible for the marketing and sale of over $1 billion of investment property, with a primary focus on multifamily and mixed use assets in the Brownstone Brooklyn neighborhoods of Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Clinton Hill and Fort Greene, as well as larger multifamily assets in Central Brooklyn neighborhoods Crown Heights, Flatbush and Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

As a veteran focusing on the Brooklyn market, Adam is often quoted in publications such as Commercial Observer, Wall Street Journal, The Real Deal, Bisnow and Crain’s. Adam graduated with a BA from the University of Rochester in 1997 and received his JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2000.  Adam practiced as a litigation attorney for 5 years before beginning his career as an investment sales broker at Massey Knakal Realty Services for 6 years and as a partner at TerraCRG for 7 years.  Adam serves as a Board of Trustee for the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and 4 children.

Mr. Hess will leverage Meridian’s market-leading debt capital markets platform and retail leasing division to further enhance the suite of services he provides to clients and build upon his achievements to date. Specialties: Brooklyn Commercial Real Estate, Multi-Family and Mixed-Use Investment Building Sales and Owner-Financed Building Sale Transactions.

Lipa Lieberman

Managing Director
Mr. Lieberman joined Meridian Investment Sales in April 2015 as a Managing Director. He has closed during his career more than $2 billion in real estate transactions. In addition to traditional commercial transactions, he has developed an expertise in bankruptcy sales. Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Lieberman held the position of Senior Director at Eastern Consolidated, where he repeatedly was named the “Most Promising Broker of the Year.” Prior to that, Mr. Lieberman worked at Cornerstone Property Group. Mr. Lieberman has been recognized by Real Estate Forum as one of “Tomorrow’s Leaders,” and by Commercial Property Executive as a “Star to Watch.”

Shallini Mehra

Managing Director
Shallini Mehra joined Meridian Investment Sales in August 2018 as a Managing Director. Ms. Mehra was previously with a boutique investment sales firm, where she spent 16 years. She has successfully completed more than $1 billion in real estate transactions across all asset classes including multifamily stabilized assets, mixed use, commercial, retail, SRO’s, development, affordable housing, note sales, air rights, residential coops and condos.  Her background in finance and strong analytical skills combined with her tenacious nature and diplomacy has proven highly beneficial to her clients in achieving their real estate goals.  Her prior experience includes three years in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, where she worked in various groups including Real Estate and Lodging, Syndicated Finance and Telecom, and Media and Technology. Before J.P. Morgan, Ms. Mehra spent four years with Arthur Andersen in its Audit & Business Advisory Practice working with Financial Institution clients. Ms. Mehra graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S in Accounting and received her MBA from The Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. Ms. Mehra is a member of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) and the Young Men’s / Women’s Real Estate Association of New York (YMWREA).

Mark Steinmetz

Managing Director
Mr. Steinmetz joined Meridian Investment Sales as a Managing Director in October 2015. Prior to joining Meridian he was a Senior Investment Sales Associate at GFI Capital Resources and a Director of Investment Sales at Rosewood Realty Group. Mr. Steinmetz is a seasoned investment sales veteran and has transacted over $1 billion in commercial real estate, created and implemented team sales techniques and generated leads. Mr. Steinmetz focuses primarily on off-market transactions across all asset classes.

Abie Kassin

Director
Mr. Kassin joined Meridian Investment Sales in April 2015 as a Director. Over the course of his career, he has closed more than $1 billion in real sales estate transactions. Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Kassin was an Associate Director at Eastern Consolidated where he worked on variety of sales transactions. He specializes in the sale of high-end retail space in SoHo and on Fifth and Madison Avenues

Richard Velotta

Managing Director
Richard Velotta is a Managing Director with Meridian Investment Sales focused the sale of multifamily, mixed-use, retail, and development properties throughout New York City. Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, he was a Director of Sales at Cushman & Wakefield (formerly Massey Knakal Realty Services) with a specialization in the Brooklyn market. Richard has been involved in the sale of properties with an aggregate value in excess of $500,000,000. Of note in 2017, Mr. Velotta has closed on the sale of 35-01 36th Street, a 50,000 square foot office and retail building in Queens for $24,000,000, 162-168 East 82nd Street, a 38-unit walk-up apartment building in Manhattan for $19,400,000, and 292 Midwood Street, a 46 unit mixed-use building in Brooklyn for $10,460,000.

Mr. Velotta graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy. He is an avid runner, golfer, and currently resides in Brooklyn Heights.

Scott Burk

Director
Mr. Burk joined Meridian Investment Sales as a Director in 2017 and is a seasoned investment sales advisor in New York City specializing in retail, mixed use, multifamily, development and hotel asset classes.  Mr. Burk has closed approximately 50 transactions during the last 5 years as a broker and dozens of transactions as a commercial real estate attorney prior to transitioning to becoming an investment sales broker in 2010. Of note, Mr. Burk represented the purchaser in the landmark sale of 341 Eastern Parkway, a brand new construction mixed use elevator building in Crown Heights Brooklyn in the fall of 2016 for $52,000,000. With over 10 years’ experience as a commercial real estate broker and attorney, Burk is creative, yet methodical in his approach to deal making. His wide range of transactional experience includes: acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, refinancing, workouts, short sales and estate sales. Mr. Burk holds a J.D. from the Fordham School of Law where he graduated Cum Laude and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Jonathan Shainberg

Vice President
Mr. Shainberg joined Meridian Investment Sales as a Vice President in July 2018. Closely working with Amit Doshi and Shallini Mehra on the middle markets team, his specialty is underwriting and sourcing off market deals for a variety of asset classes, such as multifamily, retail, mixed-use, development and office transactions throughout the New York area. He is responsible for handling all aspects of the transaction process from origination to closing and has developed many new and long-lasting client relationships. Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Shainberg worked as an Associate at a boutique investment sales firm, where he was named the company’s 2017 Rising Star. In early 2018, Mr. Shainberg closed the sale of three elevator residential buildings in the Bronx totaling $33.5 million in value. These included 1422 Nelson Avenue, a 70,500 square foot, six-story, pre-war building with 72 units; 1110 Anderson Avenue, a 51,500 square foot property totaling 44 units; and 1459 Wythe Place, a 76,000 square foot building with 73 units. Mr. Shainberg began his career at RBC Capital Markets on the Real Estate Investment Banking desk as an Analyst, where he worked on public and private equity and debt, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance, and advisory and valuations. Born in Los Angeles, he is a graduate of Boston University with a B.S. in Finance and Economics.

Adan Elias Kornfeld

Vice President
Adan Elias Kornfeld is a Vice President with Meridian Investment Sales focused on the sale of all property types throughout New York City including office, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial and development. He joins Meridian as a member of David Schechtman’s Middle Market Investment Sales team. During the course of his career Mr. Elias Kornfeld has completed or participated in over $500 million worth of investment sales transactions. Prior to joining Meridian in February 2019, he was a member of the New York Capital Markets group at Colliers International, led by Richard Baxter, Yoron Cohen and Scott Latham, where he focused primarily on the sale of office and development product in Manhattan.

Mr. Elias Kornfeld holds a B.B.A. from Florida International University where he attended the Honors College. He is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and sits on the events committee for American Friends of Rabin Medical Center. He enjoys coaching youth basketball and has a passion for the art of barbering.

Seth Levine

Vice President
Mr. Levine is a Vice President with Meridian Investment Sales, focusing on all asset classes, including multifamily, mixed-use, and development properties throughout New York City. Mr. Levine also assists clients in equity raising and joint venture opportunities.

Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, Mr. Levine practiced real estate law at Capital One Financial Corp., with an emphasis on Agency, CMBS, and mezzanine financing. Mr. Levine started his real estate career as an Analyst for RXR Realty, where he worked on the formation of RexCorp Opportunity Fund II (estimated raise $850 million), the development of The Ritz-Carlton Residences in North Hills, NY, and Baltimore, MD, and the acquisition of the Starrett-Lehigh Building.

Mr. Levine received his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, his M.B.A. from Long Island University, and his B.A. from Yeshiva University.

Edward Setton

Vice President
Edward (Eddie) Setton is a Vice President at Meridian Investment Sales, where he focuses on the sale of multifamily and mixed-use assets in Brooklyn alongside Adam Hess. His primary concentration is in the prime Brooklyn neighborhoods of Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Gowanus, and Sunset Park. Mr. Setton conducts property evaluations and is a major contributor to his team’s marketing efforts. Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Setton worked for Sterling National Bank in the Residential Mortgage Division, where his primary responsibility was originating loans for homebuyers. Mr. Setton graduated from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College with a Bachelor of Science in Investment Real Estate. He is an avid sports fan, and in his spare time enjoys playing and watching football and basketball. Mr. Setton is on the board of The Stella Liniado Rainbow Foundation, which raises awareness and provides research and testing for bone marrow cancer. Every summer, he manages a sports fundraising tournament that has over 1,000 attendees. All proceeds are donated to the foundation.

Jason Goldy

Vice President
Mr. Goldy joined Meridian Investment Sales in May 2016 as a Vice President on the Middle Market team focusing on New York City’s submarkets. Prior to joining Meridian he was a corporate attorney at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP, Sidley Austin LLP, and American International Group where he specialized in commercial and property-related litigation. Mr. Goldy has represented buyers and sellers across all asset classes, including multifamily, retail, industrial, office, and development.

Mr. Goldy holds a J.D. from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, a B.A. from the University of Rochester and is a licensed real estate salesperson in New York.

David Benharouch

Vice President
David Benharouch joined Meridian Investment Sales in September of 2017 as a Vice President. A native of Paris, France, David graduated from law school at the University of Paris XII and economic school at the University of Paris IX Dauphine before working as a corporate lawyer at a major law firm. He subsequently spearheaded a major reorganization and automation of a prominent family business to optimize profitability and efficiency.

David married and moved to New York, where he became a leading expert in the EB-5 financing industry, and further pursued his interest in real estate. Prior to joining Meridian, David served as a real estate salesperson at The Corcoran Group and is an active member of REBNY.

Paul Patafio

Vice President
Mr. Patafio joined Meridian Investment Sales as a Vice President, responsible for coordinating the team’s underwriting and marketing efforts. Since joining Meridian, Mr. Patafio has worked closely with Mr. Schechtman in completing over forty transactions totaling over $1.35 billion. Responsible for overseeing the entire sales process, beginning with the preparation of initial valuation materials and extending through broad marketing campaigns and contract negotiations, he has worked across all asset classes throughout New York City. Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Patafio was a Senior Associate with CBRE as part of the Institutional Sales Group in New York City. Prior to CBRE, he was with FTI Consulting in the Real Estate Solutions Group focused on asset valuations nationwide. Mr. Patafio holds a M.S. in Real Estate Finance and Investment from the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate and a B.B.A. from the George Washington University.

Scott Shalek

Associate
Scott Shalek is an Associate in the Institutional Investment Sales Group of Meridian Investment Sales, LLC. His responsibilities at Meridian Investment Sales include, but are not limited to, acquisition/disposition, valuation/underwriting, research, transaction due diligence and property marketing. Prior to joining Meridian Capital, Mr. Shalek participated in GGP’s inaugural Associate Rotation Program. Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Change from Northwestern University.

Michael Feldman

Michael Feldman Joined Meridian Investment Sales in August of 2015. Mr. Feldman brings with him five years of commercial real estate experience, representing owners and operators executing transactions across retail, mixed-use, multi-family and hotel assets in New York. Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, Mr. Feldman served as an associate at the New York offices of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. Working alongside top executives in the firm, Mr. Feldman aided his team in achieving its best calendar year, completing dozens of transactions representing New York University, Empire State Realty Trust, and MGM Real Estate. Mr. Feldman graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics from the Baruch College Zicklin School of Business. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York and a member of REBNY. In addition to being a member of REBNY. I am also a member of RSA (Rent Stabilization Association).

Harry Hochman

Mr. Hochman joined Meridian Investment Sales in November 2016 as an Associate on the Middle Market team focusing on multifamily properties in the Manhattan and Brooklyn markets. Prior to Meridian he was an Investment Sales Associate at Marcus & Millichap.

Mr. Hochman holds a B.A in Communications from the University of Connecticut and is a licensed real estate salesperson in New York. He is also a strong supporter of AIPAC and is a member of their Young Leadership and Real Estate divisions.

Aaron Birns

Associate
Aaron Birns is an Associate at Meridian Investment Sales, working alongside Senior Managing Director Adam Hess and Vice President Eddie Setton. Mr. Birns focuses on the sale of mixed-use and multifamily assets, specializing in Brooklyn’s Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Sunset Park neighborhoods. Prior to Joining Meridian, Mr. Birns was an Acquisition Analyst at ANG Real Estate Partners, LLC. In this role, he managed the origination and acquisition of valueadd investment properties. He also served as an Investment Sales Associate at TerraCRG and Marcus & Millichap, where he directed sales activities including lead prospecting, marketing, and representing clients on an exclusive basis. Mr. Birns earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management from Syracuse University. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with family.

Archie Eichorn

Brian Gladstone joined Meridian Investment Sales in August 2018 as an Associate, specializing in the sale and acquisition of multifamily, office, mixed use, and retail assets throughout the New York Metropolitan area.

Maxwell Kepes

Associate
Maxwell Kepes joined Meridian Investment Sales in March 2019 as an Associate working with the Middle Market team. In that time he has focused on the underwriting of real estate transactions over a wide array of property types, including multifamily, retail, commercial, special purpose, development and bankruptcy sales.

Prior to joining Meridian Investment Sales, Mr. Kepes worked as an appraisal analyst at BBG, a nationally acclaimed appraisal and valuation firm.  In his three plus years, he was responsible for the underwriting and research of all asset types throughout the tri-state area with a concentration on the five boroughs of New York.  Before that, he graduated from the University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy with a concentration on Business Policy and Economic Development with a minor in Entrepreneurship.
